Winter Skin Care Tips

Freezing condition of Germany can cause the skin irritation and dryness. Winter can even make nice moisturised skin dry and irritated. We are led to believe wearing various layers of clothing will help us keep warm and protect our skin from the wind or the cold. This is not entirely true we still have to moisturise our skin if we do not want the skin to go dry in the winter. Here are some advice on what you can do to protect your skin in winter.

Consume at least 3 to 4 litres of water so that your skin do not get dehydrated as it is the biggest organ in our body. Skin is always moisturised if you drink lots of water daily. When we do activities which makes our body sweat, it is very essential for us to replace the water we have lost through our skin.

Before you go to sleep it is very important to apply creams in our skin. I know most of us do apply creams during the day but sometimes we forget to apply at nights. Activities throughout the day reduce the moisture in the skin and this will continue if we do not moisturise our skin at nights. You will notice lack of moisturise when your feet starts getting dry and cracked.

Use humidifiers in your homes as air in the winter can get very dry. As the heater is almost on all day and night long it can cause drying effect on your skin, you will also feel your nasal passages getting dryer. To add bits of moisture to the air invest in humidifiers in Germany we call it luftbefeuchter.

Take showers with cool water. I know we all want to shower in hot water in freezing condition but it does not do any good to our skin, use cool water for shower so that it does not let our skin dry.
